| Career Highlights: Bob made it
to the big leagues for the first time, August 8, 1985 and played the 9th
inning at second base against the Tigers in the first game of a
doubleheader...was optioned back to Omaha, August 12...batted .232 with
19 RBI in 89 games for the O-Royals in 1985...batted .253 (his 2nd
highest as a pro) and established career highs in runs (62), hits (120),
doubles (9), triples (5) and RBI (45) in 1984 at Memphis (AA)...a
Bachelor of Science degree holder (management) from St. Cloud (Minn.)
State, Bob played baseball and basketball in college...was a key member
of two conference championship baseball teams (1978 and 1980)...was a
first-team all-conference selection at shortstop for St. Cloud...told
his father he would hit a grand slam for him on Father's Day 1977, and
he did it...signed to professional contract by Art Stewart. |
